VA - SHORT ATTENTION (DIGITAL002)
Label: Short Attention Records
Mane - TPB
Pedro Salgado - Step 1
Hector Ram - Rolling 19
Riki - Narwhals
Alpha+ - Floating Technique
Causing quite a stir between labels, the second release of Short Attention Digital its a Mexican only compilation, the VA offers 5 rough techno cuts ranging from banging Detroit techno to moody acid excursions, a powerful vibe throughout the whole VA is a true homage to underground Techno music.
It starts with Mane and “TPB” a track with an innovative sound with drums that can be described as lo-fi and loose, the bassline is a meandering addition that really catches you in and soft and gentle form that tumbles around the groove and encourages you to cut loose and enjoy the rhythm.
After some releases as "Unknown Artist" Pedro Salgado marks his first release since November 2017. “Step 1" wraps gentle acid lines and futuristic techno riffs around a crunchy 808 rhythm track ready to trap you in the dancefloor.
“Rolling 19” by Hector Ram brings in a deep bass and cosmic spaced synths, that is perfectly blurry and analogue in its design, while the drums has a deep late night cut with jacking percussion that can provoke a non-stop groove.
Riki “Narwhals” impresses with innovative textures and mixtures of synthetic and organic in fresh new ways, gradually forming into a starlit stepper of the highest caliber that will make anyone dance.
Alpha + steps up a gear with “Floating Technique”, as the analogue percussive rhythms go into overdrive, this track sublimely blends esoteric melodies and a bunchy bass line with energetic electronic rhythms throughout the track that makes it one of a kind.
An impressive 5-tracker compiled of groovy, yet pounding Techno mastery.
